A Trip to the 'Cottages'

As always, there’s something in the title, and we’ll get to that a bit later. A lot has transpired since I last wrote here. My life has been full of busty activity just as much as dull inactivity. I suppose that’s just how things are; you can’t always be active. Even the most ardent adventures need time to rest in between expeditions. I have learned a lot though through the past several months, so when it’s all said and done, I’m pretty happy.

Hammersmith Farms

Some time has certainly passed since this blog was updated. It has not been forgotten though, and I hope this update will be the first in a regular string of posts that will at the very least serve as a written record for me of what has happened. The title alludes to a trip I will be taking soon, which I also find interesting because it reminds me of London.

The Information Agency

The past two weeks have been a grind, I think that is the best way to put it. I have learned a lot though, and had some fun along the way.

The Family Circle

A lot has happened in the past two weeks, so I'll try and get through all of it as thoroughly as possible. Also, the title might seem a bit random, but I promise I'll get to it

Chimborazo

What a week it has been. The title is relevant, but I'll get to it later. I have a lot to say, so I might as well jump right in.

The Cherry Tree

When they said it would be an entire day, they really meant it would be an entire day...I spent probably six hours or so at Mount Vernon in Virginia today. Here's a recap of the week....

Congressional Broadside

Just because it's Superbowl Sunday doesn't mean I just sat around all day waiting for it to happen, I got an early start.

The Bureau of Ordnance

My birthday was a jam-packed day, it was fantastic. As I write this it's finally sinking in all that I managed to do, so lets get to it

Section 45

I did a lot of walking today, notching almost 14 miles when I walked through my house door this afternoon. I spent most of my day at Arlington National Cemetery, then the rest of the day in Georgetown.

Dash 80

The second week in the nations capitol was packed full of so many cool things...I don't know what other way to put it. Lets see if I can lay it all out....

Way Too Early

As I write this, I have been up for 15 hours. Today has been an amazing day and I'll try to present it as completely as possible so you can see just how awesome it's been.

The Cloakroom

So far, my updates haven't had anything to do with the real reason I'm here, which is to work. I've been trying to see what I can and can't talk about. I think I've got it down....

Gallery 11

I have been up to a lot over the past 3 days. I've been down to the tidal basin to see some of the nations most prestigious memorials, and to a handful of Smithsonian Museums. I'll see what details I can provide below

The National Mall

Today was the first day of site seeing...I went to the Natural History Museum with some of my fellow UConn interns. It was a lot of fun all in all. When it was all said and done we spent close to 4 hours there. It was a great museum. It rivaled what I saw in New York. The best part, it was free! All of the Smithsonian museums are free, and there are a ton more to see. Apologies for this post being short, but I'm not blogging from my computer, so I can't post any of the 185 pictures I took.

I'll keep you posted, and I'll put a lot of pictures up ASAP.

Stay tuned....

The Cherokee Strip

It's been half a year or so, but I decided to revive my oft-used blog from London. I wish I had blogged more while I was in New York City last summer; so much happened so fast that by the time I sat down to type...there was just too much. I'm going to try and not make the same mistakes again. Also, I'm going to try and keep these as short as possible, and let the pictures do as much talking as possible. I do like to write, but I also acknowledge the idea that people enjoy short-and-sweet pieces now more than long-winded efforts. I'll explain the title later on...
